YEREVAN. – Turkey has no intentions of taking any positive steps toward normalizing relations with Armenia, in the near future, turkologist Andranik Ispiryan stated during a press conference on Saturday. 

Reflecting on the Armenian-Turkish relations, the turkologist noted that no step is taken in this process, as of this moment and, furthermore, Turkey is not even thinking about it.    

“After when Armenia sent relief to victims of the Van earthquake, Turkey’s FM Ahmet Davutoglu had noted they accepted the humanitarian aid with gratitude, irrespective of who sent it. But Davutoglu had excluded that the assistance received from Armenia and Israel could play a role in reconciliation with those countries,” Ispiryan said.   

And in response to the question as to the stance Armenia must adopt if the West launches a strike against Iran, Ispiryan stressed that Armenia has good neighborly relations with Iran for numerous years and, in the event of military operations against Iran, which, as per the analyst is less likely, Armenia would take a neutral position.
