There is no basis to await that Turkey will find enough courage to look in the eyes of its past. Member of the parliamentary faction Prosperous Armenia, member of the Armenian delegation in the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Naira Zohrabyan announced during an interview with the reporter of Armenian News-NEWS.am commenting on the previously done statement of Turkey’s Mejlis chairman Jamil Chichek that Turkey is ready to face its past.

“I do not think that a man like Chichek has any reason for optimism. Moreover, today’s Turkish elite tries to get away from that past. Nothing shows that Turkey is ready for that today or tomorrow,” the MP stressed.

Commenting on the announcement of France’s FM Allen Jupe that France ‘is ready to take the responsibility of the Armenian-Turkish discussions on the Armenian Genocide’ Zohrabyan said that she does not want to think too bad of the French FM.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier Turkey’s Mejlis chairman announced on November 18 that Turkey is ready to face its past.
