Swedish security service SAPO said on Thursday it had observed Iran using criminal networks in Sweden to carry out violent acts against other states, groups, and individuals, Reuters reported.

The activities have primarily targeted dissident groups and individuals in the Iranian diaspora but have also extended to members of other countries such as Israel, SAPO said in a statement.

‘Such activities may be carried out with the aim of damaging Israeli and Jewish interests, objectives and activities in Sweden,’ the agency said in a statement.
