UN Secretary-General António Guterres has placed the Israeli military on a global list of perpetrators of crimes against children, Guterres's spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, said.

Dujarric said Israel was told it was included on the list in the secretary-general's annual report on children in armed conflict, which will be sent to the UN Security Council next Friday.

According to the diplomatic source, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, as well as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), were also included on the list.

Dujarric added that Guterres' chief of staff called the Israeli U.N. mission on Friday, a courtesy extended to countries recently placed on the list. “This is to warn these countries and avoid leaks,” he said.
