The Kuwaiti authorities have announced scheduled power cuts in several regions of the country, as the latter’s energy infrastructure cannot withstand the increased load due to the current extreme heat.

Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said Wednesday that these outages will last one to two hours a day, and urged people to limit their electricity consumption during peak hours.

The next day, the ministry issued a notification, which includes the list of the capital and regions where power cuts will be carried from 11am to 5pm local time. The list includes about 60 districts, most of which are in the capital of Kuwait.
