Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has promised the "next positive steps" in his country’s border delimitation with Armenia.

"The work on the delimitation of the border with Armenia is ongoing. In the near future, we will witness further positive steps," Bayramov said at a joint news conference with his Georgian counterpart, Ilia Darchiashvili, in Tbilisi.

The Azerbaijani FM emphasized that the negotiations on a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia are ongoing. According to him, positive developments have been observed in recent months regarding the post-conflict normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"During the meeting [with Darchiashvili], I informed about the current situation in the domain of post-conflict normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. I should mention that the work in this direction is ongoing. In recent months, we have witnessed a number of positive developments. Among them is reaching an agreement on the delimitation of a part of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border and signing a protocol. We consider this step important. Thanks to this protocol, the occupation of four villages of Azerbaijan was put to an end," Bayramov said, referring to the unilateral transfer of some territories of Tavush Province by Armenia.

The Azerbaijani FM, however, did not say when his country was going to end its occupation of Armenian territories.
