An antiterrorism court in Pakistan has sentenced a young Christian man to death, finding him guilty of spreading offensive words for Muslims on social media, reports Dawn newspaper.

According to the investigation, the Christian's blasphemous content on the internet caused the displeasure of Muslims and in August 2023 provoked more than 20 attacks on churches, Christian communities and their homes in Faisalabad, Punjab.

The investigation is not over yet.

None of the attackers was convicted.

Punjab police detained 132 suspects in the attacks, but most of them were either acquitted or released on bail.

Earlier, Pakistani courts sentenced five Muslims to death by hanging for blasphemy. The basis was a profane video and social media posts which were found on their gadgets.
