Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said he asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to consider the possibility of a ceasefire in order to speed up the peaceful settlement of the conflict with Russia.

"We highly appreciate all the initiatives of President Zelenskyy to achieve peace. These initiatives take a long time according to the rules of international diplomacy and are very complicated. I asked Mr. President to think about whether it would be possible take a slightly different route, cease the fire, and then continue the negotiations," Orban said at the press conference held after his meeting with the president of Ukraine, in Kyiv.
