The US will continue to work with Armenia and Azerbaijan on specific meetings and matters on the margins of the NATO summit. Vedant Patel, Principal Deputy Spokesperson of the US Department of State, noted this at Tuesday’s Department press briefing.

Patel noted that ongoing discussions between the two countries are a priority for the US State Department.

"Broadly in the context of the issue in the South Caucasus, this is a priority for us, a priority for the [US] Secretary [of State] and other officials across this department. I have no doubt that it’s something we’ll continue to work towards. Specific meetings and engagements on the margins of the [NATO] summit [in Washington]," said Patel.

The principal deputy spokesperson of the US State Department, however did not want to speak about the schedule of these meetings yet.
