Labour Party leader Keir Starmer has officially become the 58th Prime Minister of the UK after meeting with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, reports Sky News.
The King has asked Sir Keir to become Prime Minister and form a new government following yesterday's landslide election win, the respective statement said.
Earlier in the day, now former PM and leader of the Conservative Party, Rishi Sunak, confirmed that he is stepping down from the office of Prime Minister following the results of the parliamentary elections Thursday.
