Estonia plans to create a defense line along its eastern border and build 600 concrete bunkers. The project is now at the prototyping stage, with tests scheduled for September and the construction of the defense line itself next year, Estonian state radio portal ERR reported.
The entire eastern border of Estonia is planned to be reinforced with a line of defensive structures. First of all, it is about the construction of 600 bunkers along the border with Russia. When drawing up the requirements for the bunkers, the experience of the Ukrainian war was taken into account, for example, one of the requirements is that up to 10 fighters with equipment and a place to eat should be accommodated inside, reports "Actual Camera".
In addition to constructing bunkers, the defense line will include anti-tank and barbed wire fences. The contract for their installation is expected to be signed in three months, and work on the bunkers along the eastern border is expected to begin next year.
