US Ambassador to the RA Christine Kvien spoke about the tragic accident that took place in Gorayk village of Syunik marz.
"It was with pain to learn of the servicemen killed and injured today in a tragic car accident in Syunik. These brave young men who selflessly fulfilled their duty to the Motherland will forever remain in the memory of those who knew them.
This is an irreparable loss for the families and relatives, and at this difficult moment, I express my sincere condolences and support to them," the Ambassador wrote.
As we reported earlier, the tragic car crash took place in the Gorayk settlement of the Syunik region. At the 34th km of the Sisian-Yerevan highway, a Mitsubishi car went off the roadway and rolled about 300 meters into a nearby valley.
As a result of the accident, the driver, Artur Mnatsakanyan, and one of the passengers, a 20-year-old resident of Tavush region Armen Mamyan, died on the spot. The other passengers, 20-year-old resident of Shirak region Azat Arakelyan, 20-year-old resident of Tavush region Norayr Danielyan, 20-year-old resident of Shirak region Rafik Voskanyan, 20-year-old Samvel Mamikonyan and resident of Tavush region Hayk Sarikyan were injured. They were taken to hospital. A criminal case has been opened at Sisian Investigation Department on the fact of the accident.
According to Shamshyan.com, the Mitsubishi was used as a taxi.
