According to a statement from the FBI, the man who tried to assassinate Donald Trump is 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, the BBC reports.

According to the FBI, Crooks was a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

That's a town about 70 kilometers or an hour's drive from Butler, the site of the assassination attempt.

"This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is encouraged to post photos or videos online," the FBI said in a statement.

The attempted assassination of Trump was made during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. He was wounded in the ear.
