An armed incident took place on the Azerbaijan-Iran border, according to the press center of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, reports APA.

On Wednesday at 3:30am, two unknown individuals were observed crossing the state border from Iran towards Azerbaijan in the service area of the Goytapa border detachment of the Border Troops of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan. 

As a result of the armed incident, two members of the Azerbaijani border patrol sustained minor injuries. One of the border trespassers was also injured.

During the inspection of the area, a total of 10 kilograms and 882 grams of narcotic drugs, a night vision device belonging to the trespassers, a 12mm caliber rifle, shell casings, and cartridges were discovered.
