Armenia's counter-proposals to the peace treaty with Azerbaijan are in the process of being developed. Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Armenia (RA), Ani Badalyan, announced this in response to the RFE/RL Armenian service’s question as to whether Yerevan has responded to Baku's latest—the tenth package of—proposals.

"The RA's counter-proposals are in the process of being developed, in accordance with the submitted principle proposal already made by the RA for the conclusion of a peace treaty in a short period of time," said the MFA spokesperson.

Armenia and Azerbaijan have been negotiating a peace treaty for a long time. Yerevan announced the receipt of the tenth package of respective proposals a month ago. This was followed by the Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs’ talks in Washington, after which the progress towards the signing of this treaty was announced. However, it is not clear what it was referring to.
