US Vice President Kamala Harris is less behind former President Donald Trump in terms of support in the upcoming presidential elections than current President Joe Biden. This is evidenced by the results of a poll conducted by The New York Times and Siena College Research Institute, reports The New York Times.

According to this poll, 48% of voters support Trump, and 47% of Americans are ready to vote for Harris in the upcoming elections. This is a significant increase for Democrats compared to The New York Times’ poll in early July after Biden's debate with Trump.

The latest poll was conducted between Monday and Wednesday among 1,142 Americans and has a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points.

The US presidential elections will be held on November 5. On July 21, incumbent President Joe Biden decided to withdraw from the election race and supported the candidacy of Vice President Kamala Harris for the highest US government post.
