Israeli warplanes flew low over the Lebanese capital Beirut on Tuesday, Reuters reported. Eyewitnesses claimed to have seen the planes with the naked eye, and they created one of the biggest sonic booms residents have heard in years.

The overflights and sonic booms occurred minutes before Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah began a speech marking a week-long memorial for the Lebanese armed group's top military commander, Fouad Shoukr, who was killed last week in an Israeli strike in Beirut's southern suburbs.
