YEREVAN. - Parliament of Armenia scrutinizes the bill "On Police service."

Presenting the bill, Deputy Chief of Police Artur Osikyan said it implies a new order of admission to educational institutions of the police, as well as recruitment to the police.

Thus, only capable individuals younger than 30, who have completed military service (except for women), undergone psycho physiological expertise and have relevant education will be accepted to the police.

Osikyan explained that they will require clear definition of educational qualification in order to topple the old practice of Soviet period, when citizens with irrelevant education were allowed to serve in operational or administrative departments of the police.
