A constitutional referendum is planned to be held in Armenia in 2027, minister of justice Grigor Minasyan told reporters in a briefing Thursday.
Minasyan noted that as a result of the respective discussions, it was decided that Armenia needs a new constitution, not constitutional amendments.
The minister added that during the working meetings of the commission, the matter of amending the first three articles of Armenia’s current constitution was not discussed, nor was the matter of removing the reference to the Declaration of Independence.
"We will work on that intricate document in detail, with public discussions, also, by working with all specialists," Minasyan said.
