National Assembly (NA) speaker Alen Simonyan on Thursday, received a delegation led by Ana Olivera, President of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay, who is in Armenia on an official visit, the NA press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Thanking for this visit to Armenia, Simonyan emphasized the importance of such visits from the point of view of the development of bilateral relations, and noted that the Armenian side highly appreciates Uruguay's position on sensitive topics concerning the Armenian people and its regular support.

Also, the Armenian NA speaker presented to Olivera the process of normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, gave some details about the respective negotiation process, and the Crossroads of Peace project of the Armenian government. Armenia-Uruguay relations and various matters of bilateral interest were also at the core of the discussions.

The speaker of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay, for her part, expressed deep gratitude for the warm welcome, and emphasized that Uruguay attaches great importance to the development of relations with Armenia.
