As of the end of August, the European Union (EU) has delivered to Ukraine 700,000 shells of 155 mm caliber, instead of the promised 1 million by March, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell admitted during the meeting of EU defense ministers.

The EU is now at the level of about 700,000 shells in terms of deliveries to Ukraine. It has not yet reached the target indicator, but it is increasing its capacity, Borrell said.

The EU foreign policy chief had announced this target indicator in Spring 2023, when he had assumed that 1 million shells would be delivered to Ukraine from March 2023 to late February 2024.
