The matter of the constitutionality of the regulation on the joint activities of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border delimitation commissions will be examined at the Constitutional Court of Armenia on September 24, the Constitutional Court informed Sputnik Armenia.

On August 30, the Armenian foreign ministry announced that Armenia and Azerbaijan had signed the regulation on the joint activities of their border delimitation and demarcation commissions.

According to this document, Yerevan and Baku agreed to implement their border delimitation based on the Almaty Declaration of 1991, but this agreement is not final.

The aforesaid regulation states that this process may proceed with some other principles in the future, after the adoption of the peace treaty.

The regulation has seven articles—mostly technical data related to the aforesaid process, and general wording. Article 4, for example, notes the possibility of border line optimization.

On September 5, the government of Armenia approved the ratification of the aforementioned regulation. And on the same day, this document was sent to the Constitutional Court.
