Armenia is interested in acquiring additional 155mm advanced towed artillery gun system (ATAGS) from India. Sujan Chinoy, Director General of the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA) of India, told Sputnik Armenia about this.

ATAGS are highly maneuverable artillery gun systems. They are made in India and are very successful. Armenia had purchased six ATAGS and was satisfied with the purchase, Chinoy said, reminding that India has already delivered Swathi weapon locating radars to Armenia, and the value of this deal was $40 million.

According to him, the Indian missile systems are among the best in the world and are in high demand.

The director general of MP-IDSA added that Armenia has shown interest also in India’s Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers worth about $250 million.
