Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran is ready to hold constructive talks to settle differences with the West, stressing that the negotiations should be based on mutual respect rather than pressure and threats. In an interview with IRIB, Araqchi condemned the new Western sanctions under the pretext that Tehran is supplying arms to Russia.
Reminding Western governments of the futility of sanctions, the foreign minister said they cannot impose their will on Iran by resorting to sanctions.
Iran has always favored dialogue and has never given up constructive talks to reach mutual understanding and settle differences, Araghchi said, noting that Iran remains ready for negotiations based on mutual respect rather than threats and pressure. He, however, criticized sanctions as a failed tool of confrontation and pressure rather than cooperation.
