We always look for opportunities to convene the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Matthew Miller, Spokesperson of the US Department of State, announced this at Monday’s Department press briefing, and confirmed the readiness of the US to contribute to the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
"We continue to support the efforts of both countries to reach a durable and dignified peace agreement," added Miller.
According to him, Armenia and Azerbaijan “have made significant progress towards finalizing a peace agreement,” and the US is “committed to supporting them in any way that we can, including convening a meeting if that’s helpful.”
But Miller refrained from making a specific statement on the question of whether US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is “hoping to put together another meeting in New York.”
