YEREVAN. – An unidentified person holding a knife robbed a Haypost Company post office branch, in Armenian capital Yerevan’s Arabkir Administrative Region, on Saturday morning, and stole 23,177,000 drams (US$ 60,683), Arabkir Police Precinct Chief Artur Mehrabyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.  

“No one was hurt. Only one person entered [the branch] and, threatening with a knife, took the money and left,” Mehrabyan stated.  

And in response to the question as whether this robbery is linked to a similar one at another Haypost branch in Yerevan, three days ago, Mehrabyan said: “I cannot say as of yet.”  

The Police Force Investigation Department launched a criminal case on charges of large-scale robbery.

To note, a person wearing a mask had entered a Haypost branch in Yerevan’s Nor Nork district, on Wednesday, and stolen 1,354,000 drams ($3,545) and escaped.  

An investigation was launched to identify and find the robber.

Also, the Police Force Investigation Department had launched a criminal case on charges of robbery, Police Force Press Service had informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
