The upcoming visit to Canada by the Armenian delegation, led by National Assembly speaker Alen Simonyan, has been postponed due to the internal political tension in Canada, Simonyan's assistant, Movses Harutyunyan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

"At the initiative of the Canadian side, a telephone conversation was held between Greg Fergus, Speaker of the House of Commons of the Parliament of Canada, and Alen Simonyan, President of the National Assembly of Armenia, during which Greg Fergus asked to postpone the dates of the visit until the internal political situation in the country is resolved, and in response to which, Alen Simonyan gave his agreement—taking into account the presented situation. The other circulating theories related to the postponement of the visit are lies and have nothing to do with reality," said the assistant of the speaker of the Armenian parliament.
