Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has called Armenia's proposal to sign a peace agreement in the form of already agreed articles "primitive" and "inadequate."

This unbridled and rather vulgar statement was made at the first session of the new parliament of Azerbaijan.

"From the moment of sending our first draft [of the peace treaty] to Armenia, dozens of comments have been exchanged. After a few months, we naturally expected that Armenia would submit its comments to us more promptly and quickly. But we see that everything is the opposite. We had to wait 70 days before we got the latest version [of the draft] from them. All non-agreed provisions were excluded from their version of the peace treaty. That is, such a primitive and inadequate move was, to be honest, unexpected," said Aliyev, adding that "a number of moments" give grounds to say that "Armenia does not really want peace, but wants to buy time."
