The situation in Lebanon can turn into a regional conflict, which will be dangerous for the whole world, according to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

"The danger does exist that the fire of events that are taking place [in Lebanon] will expand to the entire region. We must not allow for Lebanon to become another Gaza at the hands of Israel," the Iranian president said in an interview with CNN, the latter reports.

Pezeshkian warned that events could spiral into a regional conflict, which “can be dangerous for the future of the world and planet Earth itself, so we must prevent the ongoing criminal acts being committed by Israel.” 

"Hezbollah cannot alone face the country [Israel], which is protected, supported, and supplied by the Western countries," concluded the Iranian president.
