Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan on Tuesday met with Annalena Baerbock, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, on the margins of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest: bilateral agenda, deepening of the Armenia-EU partnership as well as regional topics, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“We highly appreciate Germany's support for the continuous and effective implementation of democratic reforms in Armenia both bilaterally and through the EU platform. This, of course, brings Armenia closer to the European Union, as we explore more prospects for cooperation,” emphasized the Armenian FM.
The two ministers noted with satisfaction that the Armenia-EU cooperation is developing in numerous important directions, reflected in the new Armenia-EU partnership agenda.
Also, the FMs of Armenia and Germany thoroughly touched upon the regional developments.
And in the context of the security situation in the South Caucasus, views were exchanged on the latest developments in the process of normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. Ararat Mirzoyan stressed that, at the moment, there is a real chance of signing the peace treaty for the realization of which a firm political will is necessary, which Armenia has clearly expressed.
