An official reception was held at the Armenian embassy in Ukraine on the occasion of Armenia's Independence Day anniversary.
And the guest of honor of the event was Yevhen Perebyinis, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, the Armenian embassy in Ukraine informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
"Our [i.e. Armenia’s] commitment to democratic values—government accountability, respect for human rights, and the rule of law—is not just a matter of governance; it is the foundation upon which the sovereignty of our nations rests. In both Armenia and Ukraine, democracy is a daily effort, a cause our peoples strive for—even in the face of enormous challenges.
Democracy, European ambitions are our shared ambitions and goals. And we are sure that together we can achieve them because they are not only the priorities of our governments, but also the clearly expressed aspirations of our peoples", said the ambassador of Armenia to Ukraine, Vladimir Karapetyan, in his welcoming remarks at the reception.
In turn, Ukrainian Deputy FM Yevhen Perebiynis specifically noted as follows in his remarks: "The relations between the Ukrainian and Armenian peoples have a long history. Their roots go back to ancient times and have always been based on friendship and mutual respect. Over the centuries, we have strengthened our cultural, political, and economic ties. Ukraine and Armenia have considerable potential for the development of bilateral relations. We [i.e. Ukraine] expect to strengthen our cooperation in various domains of the bilateral agenda, as well as in the international arena."
