Armenia's foreign minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with his Iranian colleague, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Armenian foreign ministry informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Noting with satisfaction the high level of friendly relations between the two neighboring countries, Mirzoyan and Aragchi discussed the possibilities of best realizing the potential of cooperation in domains of mutual interest.

In the context of the establishment of lasting peace in the South Caucasus, the Armenian FM presented the latest discussions on signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan.

Also, Mirzoyan emphasized Armenia's strong political will to achieve lasting peace in the region and, in this context, underscored the position expressed by Iran at the highest level regarding unconditional respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty.

In addition, the FMs of Armenia and Iran addressed the task of unblocking regional economic and transport channels, in the context of which Ararat Mirzoyan stressed Armenia's firm approach to opening regional communications in accordance with the principles laid down in the Crossroads of Peace concept presented by the Armenian government.
