A single transport area and a single market of transport services are being formed within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), announced this based on the results of the session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held in Yerevan Tuesday.

According to him, the work towards the implementation of a coordinated transport policy is still in progress. Today, the heads of governments of the EAEU member countries approved the roadmap for 2024-2026. Thus, a single transport area and a single market of transport services will be formed within the EAEU.

Also, the participants approved the rules of exchange in the single EAEU electricity market. This is the last document in the set of rules necessary for the successful functioning of the market.

In addition, the heads of governments of the EAEU member countries have decided on the domains of industrial cooperation until 2030. This document establishes a list of priority economic activities for the five-year period, including 24 positions. This includes the most important industries for all member countries, from aircraft manufacturing, space technology to paper and jewelry production.

The joint action plan of Uzbekistan, which has observer status with the EEC and EAEU, for the years 2024-2026 was also signed today. The plan envisages cooperation in customs, technical regulation, trade policy, consumer protection, antitrust regulation, and some other domains.

The head of the EEC noted the holding of the third Eurasian Economic Forum in Yerevan, which was attended by more than 2,000 people from 30 countries. Its business program includes about 30 events. The next meeting will take place in December in Moscow.
