Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: Still in the last period of the Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] blockade [by Azerbaijan], Samvel Babayan [i.e. the former Minister of Defense and former Secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh] publicly admitted that he negotiated with the Azerbaijani side, they exchanged a set of principles so that it would be possible to keep Artsakh under the Azerbaijani mandate.

Recently, he was "put against the wall" by some Artsakh circles wondering how he got in touch, how he negotiated with the Azerbaijanis; as a rule, Azerbaijanis do not accept random people.

Babayan gave the name of the person who assumed the role of a mediator between him and some Azerbaijani officials, took the documents periodically to the Azerbaijani checkpoint at Karmir Shuka [village], handed [them over], and then took theirs.

It is about Razmik Aghasyan from Artsakh, a middle-aged man about whom not much is known, but there is no doubt that he was in long-term contact with Azerbaijanis, otherwise they would not trust him.

It turns out that the RA authorities are carrying out criminal prosecutions against [former Artsakh resident] Sargis Galstyan on charges of espionage, but they are turning a blind eye to another person: Babayan's mediator Razmik Aghasyan.

By the way, they say that the Russian peacekeepers [in Artsakh] caught Razmik Aghasyan during another exchange and had a tough conversation with the then president of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, that “you are negotiating separately with the Azerbaijanis behind our backs, but demanding providing security from us.”
