The regulation of the border delimitation commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan, which was approved by the Constitutional Court of Armenia at the end of September, has been sent to the National Assembly of Armenia for ratification.

It was announced earlier that during the respective parliamentary debates, the representative of the Armenian government will be Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, who is also chairman of the Armenian commission for border delimitation.

The aforesaid regulation was signed two months late, and its text was publicized in Armenia only two days later. The Armenian government had explained that this delay in the declassification of its content was related also to the need to synchronize this process with Azerbaijan as much as possible.

According to this document, Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to carry out their border delimitation based on the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration, but this agreement is not final. The regulation states also that after the adoption of the peace agreement, this process may proceed with some other principles in the future.

The regulation has seven articles, and they are mainly technical data and general wording related to the process.

In Azerbaijan, however, the text of this regulation has not yet been made public and has not yet passed any procedure.
