Russia does not interfere in the affairs of Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on October 8 when answering the question of "Izvestia" correspondent.

He recalled that according to the format of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the leaders of the countries always sit at the same table, but this does not indicate Moscow's involvement in the affairs of Baku and Yerevan.

“They continue their dialog one way or another within the CIS framework. But the rest - bilateral relations - is no longer ours, it is their sovereign prerogative,” he clarified.

At the same time, he said, the Russian side is in dialog with both countries.

“We discussed Russian-Armenian relations with Armenia and Russian-Azerbaijani relations with Azerbaijan,” Peskov added.
