Russian President Vladimir Putin will discuss with Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian the situation in the Middle East, as well as issues of bilateral relations, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, RIA Novosti reported.

“First of all, bilateral Russian-Iranian relations,” Peskov told reporters when asked about the topics of Putin's upcoming talks with the Iranian president.

According to Peskov, Moscow and Tehran have very close relations in a variety of areas.

“The situation in the Middle East cannot be neglected. It will also be on the agenda,” Peskov added.
