Today, on October 12, at 18:17 local time (14:17 GMT) seismological network of the Territorial Seismic Protection Service of the RA Interior Ministry registered an earthquake with magnitude 2.1. This was reported in the rescue service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.

Geographical coordinates of the earthquake are 39․89⁰ north latitude and 45.44⁰ east longitude. The tremors were registered 21 km to the north-west of Jermuk town.

The source was at a depth of 10 km. In the epicenter the strength of the tremors was 2-3 points. The earthquake was felt in the towns of Jermuk, Yeghegnadzor and Artabnuyk, Hermon and Arates villages of Vayots Dzor region with the intensity of 2-3 MSK.
