Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its new CLA, reports Motoru.ru. This most compact and budget electric Mercedes was brought to the finals of the 39th International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories in Hyeres, France.

The electric CLA, which provided the setting for the show, also "tried" a designer livery called Erlkonig (King of the Forest), making a reference to the term; the Germans used it for their experimental "mules" since the middle of the last century.

The battery-powered CLA will be built on the new Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) platform, with a basic rear drivetrain.

It is known that the new product will have an 800-volt architecture and consume approximately 12 kWh of electricity per 100 kilometers. The declared current reserve is about 750 kilometers. The CLA will be offered with two batteries, one of which is a silicon oxide anode, which can be charged in 15 minutes, with an energy reserve to cover a distance of 400 kilometers.

The manufacturer promises an aesthetic and unusual design using environmentally friendly materials. Anticipating the production CLA concept shown a year ago, it has optics in the form of thin rings with integrated three-point stars and an illuminated grid of a diffused star radiator.

The interior is equipped with a Superscreen infotainment system covering the entire width of the front panel and a floating center tunnel.

The CLA EQ will go on sale in Europe in 2025.

A few more Mercedes will be built on the MMA platform, which is designed for both electric cars and models with internal combustion engines, and a few more model Mercedes will be built. Among them will be the g-Class lowercase Gaelic. Unlike the "big" Gelandewagen, it will be fully electric, and its technology will be borrowed from the CLA.
