YEREVAN. – Meetings of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents should only be welcomed as they weaken the tension between conflicting sides, political scientist Yervand Bozoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am commenting on the statement by the Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs that the presidents are ready to meet again in the near future to continue the direct dialogue and to discuss Karabakh conflict settlement.

According to the expert, the more the presidents meet, the lesser there will be threats on war. There are no preconditions for deciding global issues as positions of the two sides radically differ on Karabakh conflict settlement.

Armenian News-NEWS.am earlier informed that Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs expressed their appreciation for the efforts, including personal participation of the presidents Medvedev, Sarkozy and Obama in supporting the sides to achieve a framework for a comprehensive peace settlement, joint Statement by the Heads of Delegation of the Minsk Group Co-Chair Countries reads.
