France will deliver new self-developed kamikaze drones to Ukraine in the near future, Sebastien Lecornu, the Minister for the Armed Forces of France, announced Wednesday, BFMTV reports.

Lecornu stated that the tests of the first French combat drone were successful, and the first French military units as well as Ukraine will receive them already "in the coming weeks."

The armed forces minister added that it is important for France to "restore sovereignty" in this promising sector in at least two years; that is, to manufacture its own combat drones.
