Two people were killed and another was injured as a result of an armed attack in downtown Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, the Mexico City Prosecutor's Office reported on X.

"The Mexico City Prosecutor's Office is investigating a shooting that killed two men and injured a woman on a street in the Centro neighborhood," the Mexico City Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.

The Ministry of Public Security, for its part, reported that "police officers, upon receiving a radio message, arrived at the scene, where they found out that a person fired several shots at a woman and two men, who were taken to medical facilities."

One of the casualties was Diana Sanchez Barrios, head of the merchants association of the historic center of Mexico City, reports Milenio. It was found out from the surveillance cameras that there were two attackers, one of them was shooting, and the other was waiting for him on a motorcycle.

A few hours after this attack in downtown Mexico City, lawyer Oralia Perez Garduno was shot dead in another district of Mexico City, near a shopping mall. She was driving a car when unidentified men on a motorcycle approached her and opened fire, reports Milenio.
