make preferableIf it turns out that Azerbaijan does not ratify the regulation, does not carry out that process, then the process we did does not get any legal force. Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, stated this speaking with reporters at the NA Tuesday.
Simonyan added that in fact he has no concerns that Azerbaijan may not ratify the regulation of the activities of the border delimitation commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"Ultimately, we have agreed on all the points. It's not like we sat down, decided to ratify some document, see if it complies with the constitution [of Armenia] or not, and bring [it] to the NA; that is, we have discussed [it] with them [i.e. Azerbaijan]. From the legal point of view, it does not contain any risk, as it does not get legal force until we exchange [it]," said Simonyan.
To the question whether there were assurances that the Azerbaijani armed forces will withdraw from the territory of Armenia, Simonyan responded. "We haven’t discussed that small detail, we have discussed that we are setting principles, as a result of which they must leave [the territory of Armenia], and we must leave the places where we are ahead."
Alen Simonyan stated that what they are currently discussing with Azerbaijan is the final document agreed upon with them.
