Marking 25 years since the first X5 rolled off its Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA assembly line, BMW is launching the Silver Anniversary Edition of its popular SUV for the 2025 model year, reports Cars.com.

The Silver Anniversary Edition debuts an xOffroad Package that the automaker notes is currently limited to the special edition.

The xOffroad Package features a height-adjustable air suspension, mechanical locking rear differential and skid plates; General Grabber all-terrain tires are available for an additional cost. To help drivers make the most of that hardware, the package also includes four additional vehicle modes for sand, gravel, snow, and rocks.

Reprogrammed exterior cameras remain active up to 21 mph to aid in wheel placement and obstacle avoidance, and a special off-road screen on the infotainment display shows ground clearance and current longitudinal and lateral inclination angles.

The Silver Anniversary Edition is sprayed in Lime Rock Grey metallic paint and features 20-inch wheels, black exterior trim, Silver Anniversary Edition badging and carbon-fiber interior trim that’s normally reserved for the V-8-powered X5s.

Standard luxury features include a trailer hitch, remote start, the Parking Assistance Package, and heated front seats, armrests and steering wheel. BMW will only build “about 1,000” units, priced at $81,075.
