The Chinese people show interest in Armenia. This was announced by Chen Ming, China's Acting Chargé d'Affaires in Armenia, in his welcoming remarks at the opening of the symposium, entitled "Chinese Studies: Innovative Development of Confucius Institutes," in Yerevan.

"On September 3, a significant event in the history of our [two] countries took place: the Yerevan- Urumqi direct flight was opened, which naturally became an occasion for even closer relations between our countries. According to statistics, the number of learners of Chinese in Armenia has reached 6,000. The Chinese people also show interest in Armenia. We, for our part, expect that many citizens of Armenia will be able to visit China and study the tradition and culture of our people," Chen Ming said.
