The 3+3 is a regional consultation platform, and we have said more than once that we attach importance to relations with neighbors, the situation in our region, and we strive to develop relations with partners with whom we have relations and to normalize relations with those neighbors with whom we do not have those relations. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this during the question-and-answer session with the government at the National Assembly of Armenia on Wednesday.
"We [i.e. Armenia] have participated in the 3+3 platform from the very beginning, and will continue to participate. As for how this platform can be or not be a platform for Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiations, I want to say that, by and large, this proposal is not even on the table. And even if will be, we will not find it appropriate to respond positively to it because we have the format of our bilateral negotiations with Azerbaijan; moreover, in all directions, both on border delimitation and on the peace treaty," stated Mirzoyan.
“It's another thing that, as in all multilateral formats, various countries use this opportunity to be in one place at the same time and have bilateral meetings as well. This time we also were no exception with the minister of foreign affairs of Azerbaijan. We had the next round of negotiations, we focused on the text of the peace treaty, we tried to ensure another positive development, to bring the conclusion of the treaty as soon as possible," added the Armenian FM.
