The Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Store, announced that the country's authorities are going to limit the use of social media by children under the age of 15, Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang reports. The government is preparing to change the respective law, which currently allows the use of social media in Norway from the age of 13.

Also, the Norwegian authorities plan to adopt an amendment so that social media verify the age of users when consenting to the collection and processing of personal data.

Norway's PM said this will not be an "easy battle," but "children must be protected from harmful content on social media." Store added that big tech companies target "the brains of little kids."
