Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's representative suggested a few days ago to consider new ideas on Ukraine, but Kyiv refused, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference following the BRICS summit in Kazan, RIA Novosti reports.

“Here recently again the Turkish side, directly President Erdogan's aide called directly from New York and said that there are new proposals that are asked to consider on the negotiations. I agreed, I said: “OK, we agree.” The next day, the head of the Kyiv regime suddenly said that he was not going to negotiate with us,” Putin said during the final press conference of the XVI BRICS summit.

As for the possibility of negotiations, the Russian president again noted that Ukraine refuses them, because in this case the Kyiv regime must lift martial law in the country and then hold presidential elections.

“Apparently, they are not ready yet. The ball is on their side,” he added.
