Nothing has changed in the relations between Armenia and Belarus. Artur Hovhannisyan, secretary of the ruling majority Civil Contract Faction of the National Assembly NA) of Armenia, stated this during the briefings in the NA Friday—and commenting on the "on foot" meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at the BRICS summit Thursday in Kazan, Russia.

"The president of Belarus attended the BRICS summit. Nothing has changed after that instruction by the prime minister of Armenia [regarding Armenian officials to no longer visit Belarus as long as Lukashenko is in office there]. If we don't know what they were talking about, how can we comment on it? Nothing has changed in [Armenia’] relations with Belarus. I repeat once again: the president of Belarus was just under the same roof under which the summit was taking place," Hovhannisyan said.
