Early Saturday morning in Tehran, several explosions were heard. According to available information, some loud noises were caused by the operation of air defense systems.

The situation in the capital is calm, and Tehran’s airports are operating normally. A representative of Imam Khomeini International Airport dismissed accusations of security violations and stated that flights are being conducted according to schedule.

According to a spokesperson for the public relations department of Tehran province’s air defense, the sounds heard in Tehran were linked to the activation of air defenses in three locations outside Tehran.

Shortly afterward, it became known that Israeli forces had launched an attack on Iranian territory.

Iran’s air defense forces issued a statement, noting that “despite previous warnings from officials of the Islamic Republic to the unlawful Zionist regime to refrain from any reckless actions, on Saturday morning, the Tel Aviv regime attacked several military facilities in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam, which led to tensions.”

Stating that the Israeli attack was successfully repelled by the country’s integrated air defense system, the agency emphasized that “the Zionists’ aggressive actions caused limited damage to several facilities.”
